Maiden issue: In the inaugural debut of the Journal of Ecosystem Science and Eco-Governance, research on tourists' perceptions and their willingness to contribute to the conservation of ecotourism resources and effectiveness of management strategies in a watershed forest reserve are documented. The maiden issue also addresses critical aspects such as parasitology, watershed management, amphibian ecology, and pest control across diverse regions of the Philippines. Notably, the presence of Schistosoma japonicum in selected rice fields surrounding Lake Mainit is documented, providing essential insights into the prevalence of this parasitic disease in agricultural settings. This comprehensive collection of studies marks a significant contribution to the field of ecosystem science and governance.
