The December 2023 edition of JESEG signifies a milestone as it marks the inaugural release via the Online Journal System (OJS). Notably, this issue introduces a groundbreaking addition – Policy Briefs – in alignment with a proactive approach aimed at fostering stronger connections between academia, research managers, and legislators. Of particular significance is the Policy Brief dedicated to Geographic Information System Technologies for Industrial Tree Plantation (ITP) Mapping and Monitoring. It advocates for the seamless integration of these technologies into existing government policies. This integration is proposed to enhance the efficiency of mapping, monitoring, and managing ITPs across the country, thereby facilitating informed decision-making and promoting sustainable forestry practices. In essence, the December 2023 JESEG issue serves as a platform for diverse and insightful research contributions, reflecting the journal's commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering informed decision-making across various domains.
